Documents, borders and baggage
Passport and visas
Every passenger needs a valid passport. Most nationalities need an Iranian visa arranged before travel, and some also need a visa for Turkey. Tell us the passenger's nationality and we will explain what to check.
Border crossings
Coaches cross at Gürbulak–Bazargan, Kapıköy–Razi or Esendere–Serow. Passengers leave the coach with their luggage for passport and customs checks. Allow extra hours: border time varies.
Baggage
Coaches carry far more luggage than a flight. The exact allowance is set by the operator and printed on your ticket; extra bags can usually be paid for at the terminal.
On board
Long-distance lines use reclining-seat coaches with regular rest and meal stops. Journey times shown are approximate and in local time; Iran is 30 minutes ahead of Turkey.
Children
Children need their own passport and normally their own seat. Tell us ages when you request the ticket so we can check the operator's child fare.
Changes and refunds
Change and cancellation rules belong to the operator and are shown to you before you pay. Ask early: most operators stop changes some hours before departure.

Bus ticket questions
How do I buy a ticket in person in Spain?
Send a ticket request on this page and choose "In person in Spain". We confirm the seat and tell you where and when to pay. Bring the passport, or a clear copy, of every passenger. You leave with a printed ticket and a receipt.
Can I book online from another European country?
Yes. Choose "Online" in the request form. After we confirm the seat and fare we send a secure payment link, and the e-ticket is delivered by email or WhatsApp once payment is received.
Can I buy a ticket for someone who boards in Turkey or Iran?
Yes, and many of our customers do. You pay in Europe, and we send the e-ticket directly to the passenger. The ticket must carry the passenger's name exactly as it appears on their passport.
How much does a ticket cost?
Fares depend on the route, the date and the operator. Request a ticket and we will confirm the exact fare, including any change or cancellation fees, before you pay anything.
How long is the journey from Istanbul to Tehran?
Around 38 to 45 hours in total, including rest stops and the border. The time spent at the border varies with traffic and season, so arrival times are approximate.
Which documents do passengers need?
A valid passport and any visas required for Iran and Turkey for the passenger's nationality. Requirements differ widely between nationalities, so check with the relevant embassy before paying. The operator will refuse boarding without the right documents.
Can I change or cancel my ticket?
Usually yes, within the operator's deadlines and for a fee. The exact rules for your ticket are shown before you pay. Contact us as early as possible if your plans change.
