A large share of the Turkey–Iran bus tickets we sell are bought by someone who is not travelling: a son in Madrid paying for his mother's journey from Istanbul to Tabriz, a sister in Paris booking a seat for a brother heading to university in Tehran. This is how it works, why it solves a real problem, and what we need from you.

Why buy from Europe?

International cards and most payment apps do not work inside Iran, and paying a Turkish coach company from Iran is awkward too. If you live in Spain, France, Germany or anywhere else in Europe, you can pay with your normal card or by bank transfer, and the passenger simply shows the ticket and their passport at the terminal. You take the payment problem away from the traveller.

How it works, step by step

  1. Search the route. On our bus tickets page, choose the origin and destination, for example Istanbul to Tehran or Van to Urmia, and the travel date, and pick a departure.
  2. Send the request. Enter the passenger's name exactly as it appears in their passport, their nationality, and a phone number or WhatsApp for them if they have one. Add your own details as the buyer.
  3. We confirm. Within one working day we confirm the seat, the fare and the operator's change and refund rules.
  4. You pay. In person at our sales point in Spain by cash or card, or from anywhere in Europe by a secure payment link or bank transfer.
  5. The passenger receives the ticket. We send the e-ticket to you, to the passenger, or to both, by email or WhatsApp. Nothing needs printing in Iran or Turkey, though a printed copy is useful at the border.

What we need from you

  • Full name of each passenger, copied from the passport, not from memory
  • Nationality and date of birth of each passenger (child fares depend on age)
  • Travel date, and a second-choice date if the first is sold out
  • Where the passenger will board: the city and, if they know it, the terminal
  • Who should receive the ticket and how (email or WhatsApp)

Ask the passenger to send you a photo of the passport data page. It avoids the single most common problem, a spelling difference between ticket and passport, which can mean denied boarding.

Documents are the passenger's responsibility

We can issue a ticket, but we cannot issue a visa. Before paying, check that the passenger holds everything they need: a valid passport, an Iranian visa where their nationality requires one (there is no visa on arrival at land borders), a Turkish e-visa if applicable, and insurance valid in Iran. Our guide to documents for the Turkey–Iran bus lists it all.

Changes and cancellations

Every ticket carries the operator's rules, and we show them to you before you pay. Most operators allow a date change or a refund with a fee up to a deadline before departure, and nothing after it. If plans change, tell us as early as you can; we handle the change with the operator so the passenger does not have to.

Onward travel and connections

If the passenger needs a city we do not serve directly, we arrange connecting tickets, usually with a change in Tabriz, Tehran, Ankara or Erzurum. We can also book the flight to Istanbul or Ankara from Europe and the hotel night before the coach, so the whole journey is on one booking.

Who we are

Agrin LTD is a travel company registered in England and Wales (company number 12556122) with its office at 128 City Road, London, and a sales point in Spain. We act as a ticket agent for licensed coach operators; the operator is the carrier. Prices are confirmed before payment and there are no hidden fees.
